Oahu offers delicious food! Living on the island of Oahu, Libbi has visited many of the restaurants below to give you an overview of the best Oahu restaurants.
For any of these best Oahu restaurants, I highly recommend making a reservation. Some restaurants only take reservations. To avoid making a reservation at most of the best Oahu restaurants, you can eat around 4-5pm as it's not as busy. Also eating at the bar can save you from making a reservation.
Below are the best Oahu restaurants that have been tried by myself, family and many of my clients.
Waikiki
Sweet E's Cafe for Breakfast
French toast and other breakfast/brunch dishes in a favorite spot for locals.
Barefoot Beach Cafe
An outdoor cafe that has Hawaiian plates and American fare with live music
Deck at Queen Kapiolani Hotel
An upscale New American fare & craft cocktails served in a stylish, open-air space with a deck & views of Diamond Head.
Duke's at Outrigger Waikiki
A popular spot known for its beachfront location, Hawaiian dishes, Hula pie and umbrella drinks.
Hula Bar and Grill
A relaxed beachside venue serving pupus, fish tacos & tropical drinks, plus a great weekend brunch.
Yard House for Happy Hour
They have awesome Poke Nachos and 1/2 off happy hour Monday-Friday for a budget meal.
Island Vintage Shave Ice
This is the BEST shave ice on the island! Trust me! I've tried them all! I love their lilikoi'i flavor. All of their flavors are natural. Make sure to get ice cream on the bottom and sweetened condensed milk on the top.
Leonards Malasadas
Malasadas are fried doughnuts but are not like a normal donut. Leonards has the best ones! There are locations in Waikiki and others around the island. Watch my YouTube video here.
Mahina and Suns
Located at the Surfjack Hotel, this restaurant has lots of local dishes. You can eat dinner outside, around their pool area. There is often live music here too.
Holey Grail Donuts
A food truck with specialty coffee and artisanal donuts with creative flavors.
Ko Olina/ West Side
Longboards in Ko'Olina
It's right on the water. They have amazing drinks like: key lima colada, guava lava, mai tai and more!
Beach House by 604 in Waianae and at Pearl Harbor
This restaurant is on the water. They have great foods and the best sunsets. They have another location called Beach House by Pearl Harbor that's also on the water.
La Tour
They are located in cafe and have good sandwiches as well as yummy macaroons!
Kalapawai Deli
Located in Kapolei, Waimanalo and Kailua. Their dinner menu is especially good with local fish. The Kapolei is a favorite for dinner.
MonkeyPod
Soon to be coming to the Outrigger Reef in Waikiki, but there is also a location at Ko Olina. Happy Hour is from 3:30-5:00pm with 1/2 off appetizers and $12 pizza. There is often live music too. Watch my YouTube video here.
North Shore
Giovanni's Shrimp Truck
We always stop at Giovanni's on the North Shore for some of their famous shrimp.
Kua Aina
They are in Haliewa and have really good sandwiches, burgers and fries!
